Title: Digital combatant

Acronym: VESTA

The purpose of the project is to produce in the country an individual equipment that provides ballistic protection and that integrates sensors and innovative communication/display/jamming solutions to increase the fighting capacity and survivability of the combatant in the tactical field

Objectives:

o The development of technological concepts for increasing operational capabilities and efficiency in the tactical field, by integrating into the tactical equipment, innovative ballistic protection materials, nanomaterials and different types of sensors (TRL 3);

o Research, design, experimentation and laboratory validation of a tactical equipment integrating innovative ballistic protection materials, IoT sensors and nanomaterials (TRL 4)

o Validation of results by testing and evaluating functional demonstrators/models, under relevant operating conditions (TRL 7)
