Holisun R&D
On the forefront of European Research
Our vision
Sustainability and a Green Future.
HOLISUN envisions a future where extending the reach of smart technology is creating a better tomorrow for everyone. Our vision is to make optimizations and smart computing ubiquitous, as they are the backbone of the Information Technology Industry. Digital Overseers will manage all aspects of production, company management and even our lives, so why not shape our future? IoT helps our world integrate with the digital one and so, Machine Learning can understand us and optimize many aspects of our lives, some we didn't even think about.
Holisun focuses on researching and developing high quality digital solutions that integrate state of the art concepts, algorithms and ready-made components, resulting in secure and flexible platforms.
Our Mission
Bringing the future within everyone’s reach.
In our 20 years intense activity, we have been committed since the very beginning to invest our time and energy into pushing the limits of what is possible with technology. We integrated concepts like Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, IoT, into our everyday products, complete with intuitive UI’s, so that not just our direct clients, but everyone that will use any of our products will feel it like an extension of their intuition.
During this, we developed strong connections with different large scale companies (like Electrolux and Airbus), important universities and research centers, that allowed us to grow, constantly improve our abilities and be able to produce ever higher quality in our products.
HOLISUN’s mission is to bring computing technology within everyone’s reach, as far and as fast as possible.
Our goal is to keep improving, participate in more and more projects and find potential partners from all over the world. This approach, along with the participations in many EU funded projects, made HOLISUN a local and regional pole for the Romanian research landscape.
About us
Founded in 2001, HOLISUN emerged on the Romanian market as a response to the increasing demand of high quality software products. Following the globalization process and the expansion of world trade, Holisun has developed partnerships with companies all over Europe and America: The Netherlands, France, Italy, USA, Canada, Romania. Our partners are private companies, but also NGOs and public institutions. With all our partners we have close collaborations, with excellent results on both sides.
The R&D expertise encompasses data mining and augmented reality. The data mining projects (related mainly to Internet of Things) focus on predictive analysis such as soil moisture, predictive maintenance and usage prediction. Our main customers are University of Agricultural Sciences of Cluj-Napoca, Desma (rubber industry) and Electrolux (the largest home appliances producer in the world). Although an SME, HOLISUN R&D department benefits on 7 people: PhDs, PhD students and masters of engineering.
HOLISUN’s vision is sustainability and a Green Future, through the use of advanced computing, taking advantage of the latest and greatest in algorithmics, platforms that were developed under other great projects (and give us a competitive edge), good quality Open Source components or cutting edge hardware platforms. All these components extend the reach of software into the real world, using technologies like Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and even Internet of Things, that enable us to understand the world through the eyes and ears of a computer. The computer, then, can help us to optimize that world, analysing or detecting problems that humans alone cannot see. This synergy between humans and computers will open possibilities not known until now.
A core expertise of HOLISUN is Machine Learning, a key concept in Artificial Intelligence, that is widely used to understand data, to turn it into information and knowledge. Projects like ModSoil and Big-Smart-Log were key to develop our Machine Learning experience and used framework, enabling us to be confident into using such concepts for optimizations of any kind. Other algorithmic approaches, like metaheuristics (including Genetic Algorithms), have the potential to optimize unknown problems. HOLISUN has extensive expertise also in this class of algorithms, through many of our colleagues that studied them in great detail, generating quality software with their use.
Gender Equality Plan
The Gender Equality Plan will be implemented by HOLISUN in the period 2021-2022 and is the first step in a broader approach that HOLISUN is undertaking to promote equality within the company.
HOLISUN is highly interested in social responsibility, and this role is strongly based on equal opportunities between women and men. Increased attention to gender equality issues reinforces the fact that HOLISUN recognizes that men and women have equally important professional roles, in a context of equal opportunities, regardless of their area of activity or hierarchical level, and therefore have diverse experiences and perspectives, thus bringing a complex approach within the organization.
